On 13 December 2023, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Universiti Malaya and Business Networking Club (BNC). Business Networking Club (BNC) is a gathering of notable entrepreneurs, founders and veterans of industry practioners.
The signing of the MoU between UM and BNC saw the bridging of ties btw industries and academia through:
1) Talent development - internship and full time employment opportunities
Such collaboration creates opportunities for students, researchers, and professionals to gain practical experience and exposure to real-world problems. BNC companies are able recruit top talent from Universiti Malaya equipping them with skills relevant to industry needs.
2) Elite@UM Program
Notable BNC entrepreneurs, founders, and experienced industry practioners can be identified and invited to join Elite@UM program where the industry practioners are able to contribute back their expertise, experience, knowledge and skills to the UM community
3) Innovation and Problem Solving
Collaboration encourages innovation by bringing together diverse perspectives and approaches to tackle complex challenges. Academia can provide fresh insights and unconventional solutions, while companies offer real-world problems and validation opportunities for academic research.
4) Community engagement projects (Sulam)
The collaboration further expand and strengthen the engagement of the BNC members with the communities adopted by UM.
