
UM Team Won🎉
We are proud to share that UM Team has emerged as the Top Scoring International Team at the Indo-Pacific Global Health Case Competition 2025!
This prestigious competition, hosted by the University of Melbourne on 8 September 2025, brought together university students from across Australia and the Indo-Pacific region, providing a platform to design multi-disciplinary, evidence-based, and innovative solutions to pressing global health challenges.
This year’s case study, “Lungs for Life: Childhood Asthma Management in the Philippines,” challenged participants to develop strategies to reform asthma prevention and management systems to improve the health and well-being of children.
The competition featured diverse teams from leading universities across the region, including The University of Melbourne, Fiji National University, IIPH Gandhinagar & Delhi (PHFI, India), Nanyang Technological University, National University of Singapore, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Universitas Airlangga, Khon Kaen University, Mahidol University, Chulalongkorn University, University of Health Sciences (Laos), University of Auckland, Rajagiri College of Social Sciences, The University of Sydney, Monash University, and Universiti Malaya.

As the Top Scoring International Team, we are thrilled that our journey continues. Two teams from this competition will advance to the Emory Morningside Global Health Case Competition 2026, held annually in March 2026 in Atlanta, USA.
We are deeply honored to represent Universiti Malaya and Malaysia on this global stage. This achievement is a testament not only to the dedication, collaboration, and passion of our team members, but also to the unwavering support from CITRA, UM. In particular, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to Associate Prof. Ts. Dr. Sri Devi, whose exceptional guidance, encouragement, and mentorship were instrumental in our success.
