Universiti Malaya (UM) successfully organized the Universiti Malaya Three Minute Thesis (UM3MT) 2026 university-level competition, which was held at the Confucius Institute, Universiti Malaya on 21 May 2026.
This prestigious competition was graced by the presence and officiating speech of Professor Dr. Hasniza Zaman Huri, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic & International). Also in attendance was Prof. Ts. Dr. Sri Devi Ravana, Director of the Centre for Citra Universiti, who showed strong support for the program.
UM3MT serves as an important platform for postgraduate students to present their research in a concise, clear, and engaging manner within just three minutes. The competition not only enhances academic communication skills but also strengthens participants’ ability to effectively convey research ideas to a general audience.
The highest appreciation is extended to all parties who have contributed directly and indirectly to the success of this program, as well as to strengthening the culture of research and innovation among students, in line with Universiti Malaya’s aspiration as a leading higher education institution.
Special appreciation is also extended to all staff of the Centre for Citra Universiti for the successful organization of this competition, particularly the Undergraduate and Postgraduate Training and Competency Division, which played a key role under the leadership of the Head of Division, Dr. Nurul Japar.
The success of UM3MT 2026 is hoped to continue serving as a catalyst for research excellence and the development of communication talents among Universiti Malaya students in the future.
