Dear UM Community,
We are pleased to announce that the UMLEADER Instructor’s Guidelines were officially launched by the Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Malaya on 29 September 2026, marking an important milestone in our commitment to nurturing future-ready graduates equipped with strong leadership capabilities, values, and a spirit of service.
The successful launch of the guidelines marks the formal integration of the UMLEADER framework into the university’s core curriculum, specifically through the compulsory Embrace@UMLEADER and Ignite@UMLEADER undergraduate courses. This would not have been possible without the collective commitment and support of many individuals across the University.
On behalf of the Centre for Integral Learning (CITRA), Universiti Malaya, we would like to extend our sincere appreciation to all faculties, the UMLEADER Taskforce, instructors, module developers, contributors, and everyone involved in the development and implementation of this University course.
From the initial planning and development of the curriculum and modules to instructor preparation, coordination, and finally its delivery to our students, this initiative reflects the strength of collaboration across the UM community.
